Have seen this place for years, but never ate there until today. Abner and I got steamed hot dogs, fries and a drink. Cute inside, in an old diner type of way. Swivel chairs at the bar. Everyone was friendly. A varied menu of things I would like to go back and try sometime. Cash only. Lots of parking across the street. Friendly staff.

I've been going there forever and the foods always great with friendly nice people, value pricing and quality. I recommend it to all my friends but sometimes I feel like people dont take it seriously because its tiny and doesnt stand out like some prominent restaurants. Dont be fooled - This is a real gem. Try the Kale soup it's everything one comes to New Bedford eateries for. Did I mention sweet, likeable people.

My all time favorite restaurant! I have been going here since I was a kid! It is such a cozy place with the nicest owners that are very friendly! I can walk in and say "I'll have my usual" so much fun to say! Great prices and just the delicious, highest quality food! Look no further if you'd like a home cooked meal or a quick hot dog and fries!

Very good food, the best cheeseburger. Very clean. A bit pricey. My family has been going there for years and it's always consistent.

Chicken tenders were delicious and breaded very nicely. But then you get to he coffee frappe and it takes over your life completely. You find yourself wanting to abandon your family and just live at the dog house forever.

Great spot. Doesn't look like much but don't let that deter you. They've got it where it counts. Recommended to anyone that enjoys classic American diner fare.

I've lived in the Greater New Bedford area most of my life and have driven by the Dog House countless times over the years, but I had never eaten there till tonight. The sidewalk teaser of a lobster roll with fries for $8.99 got me in the door, but I have to admit, the diverse menu is what will keep me coming back to try a few different things. Shepard's pie, clam boil soup, and a few other things caught my eye on the menu. The place is surprisingly clean and the lobster roll was very good... (Cold lobster on a toasted roll) It may have taken me all these years to stop in, but I'm glad I did!... Great food at a decent price = winning combination... Two thumbs up for this staple in the community!

What a great find. I stopped in for a hotdog. They had steamed or grilled with chili cheese onions but that was the extent of the toppings. However as I read the menu I realised this place has all the great diner foods, Meatloaf, potroast, chicken etc. But my major find was the Cheeseburgers. They weren't the whomping 8-10 oz burgers, they were small, maybe 4 or 5oz's and so fresh. small bun so as not to screw up the bun to meat ratio that I find so important. Fresh toppings. My wife gets the sauteed onions, a heaping pile cooked down perfect. The Fries are really tasty and crispy we split an order. Now when we shop at the Market Basket we stop in for lunch. Two people with tip under $15. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that they don't accept CC and they don't have pickles.
